  7. I have installed the wwwcounter2.3, made by Muhammed A.Muwuir,
  8. at the Digital City of Delft  (http://www.dsdelft.nl, a dutch site) 
  9. for quite some time now and it works perfectly. One of the nicest 
  10. things is the configurability of the wwwcounter. You can decide 
  11. how it looks, who can and who can not make use of the counter,
  12. add as much custom made digits as you want, etc. In one word: 
  13. a perfect count program for a server! 
  14. It also tries to be smart in case someone presses reload. 
  15. The counter won't count in that case. Well, it has all kind
  16. of nice options like displaying date and time, colour of the counter,
  17. etc, etc. Too much to say in a few words. But it had one drawback: 
  18. it only runned on WindowsNT, OS2 and Unix computers. But since some
  19. Amiga owners developed the Ixemul.library, it became possible
  20. to port UNIX programs to the Amiga. Since I had the sources
  21. at the DSD (Digitale Stad (city) Delft) somewhere around, I could
  22. not resist the temptation to compile it on my Amiga.
  23. It was easier than I thought with the help of GCC and Ixemul.library. 
  24. Only one small addition had to be made in the Count-install script, 
  25. but that was basically it. So, now can every Amiga-server on the 
  26. internet/intranet run the wwwcounter too.

  33.   If you run Apache, do nothing, you must have the correct version of
  34.   ixemul already.

  67. This is the binary archive, the wwwcounter2.3 is pre-installed!

  69. I have made a source distribution also, but that has one drawback, you must 
  70. compile it yourself with GCC. It's not too difficult to do, just
  71. follow the instructions in the AMIGA INSTALL file. But if you don't have
  72. GCC and/or don't want to install GCC, then you have to use this binary
  73. distribution. You have the follow the instructions in the Amiga install
  74. file precisely, especially the provided paths are important. Do not
  75. change them! (They are compiled into the binary).

  77. If the provided paths are not what you want, ask me for a custom made GCC 
  78. compilation. You can decide in which directory you want to have the counter. 
  79. A fee is asked in that case  ($20 US dollars) to cover for my time. This
  80. includes shipment (on disk or via e-mail) and additional help if you need

  82. I don't think that anyone will ever need it, read the docs carefully).
